NIOPhone Will Soon Support Google GMS Framework
The head of the NIOPhone, Yin Shuijun, forwarded a blogger’s summary of the advantages of the NIOPhone on his personal Weibo account and invited users to provide suggestions for the NIOPhone. A netizen asked when Google GMS framework would be supported, and Yin Shuijun replied that it could be achieved in mid-late next month.
In response to user suggestions, Yin Shuijun revealed that the upcoming updates for NIOPhone may include the following features: customizable car control menu, background lock function (requires time), and bulk movement of desktop icons (currently under development). Previously, NIOPhone has already undergone two rounds of system updates with SkyUI 1.0.1 and 1.0.2 versions. In the SkyUI 1.0.2 version released last month, a new feature called ‘Sky Window’ was added, allowing users to quickly preview their phone’s home screen and use all apps through the in-car central control screen. Additionally, NIO Link gaming feature was introduced, enabling players to play games like ‘Asphalt 9: Legends’ in full-screen mode on the vehicle’s infotainment system.
In terms of hardware, the NIOPhone is equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 flagship processor, with an optional configuration of up to 16GB+1TB storage space. The device features a 6.81-inch Samsung E6 material 2K screen and supports 120Hz LTPO high refresh rate technology. Additionally, it has a built-in large battery capacity of 5200mAh and supports wired charging at 66W, wireless charging at 50W, and wireless reverse charging at 10W.
In terms of imaging, the NIOPhone is equipped with three main cameras: a 50MP wide-angle lens, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 50MP periscope telephoto lens. The lens module adopts a chessboard-like design.
