BYD’s New Sedan Destroyer 07 Renames As the Seal DM-i
July 14th news, recently, BYD officially announced that its new mid-to-large-sized hybrid sedan Destroyer 07 has been renamed as Seal DM-i. The new car will be launched in the third quarter with a price range of ¥180,000 to 250,000 ($25,200-$35,000).
The car was officially unveiled at Auto Shanghai, positioned as a B+ class plug-in hybrid sedan. The overall dimensions of the vehicle are 4980/1890/1495mm in length, width, and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2900mm. In terms of appearance, the car adopts an oceanic aesthetic design concept, featuring a sleek fastback-style shape. The headlights are narrow and sharp, while the tailgate slightly lifts up, giving it a sporty feel overall. However, compared to the pure electric model Seal, this car is still larger in size.
The car adopts hidden door handles and fastback design and is equipped with a strip-shaped high-mounted brake light on the hood. The interior is equipped with a full LCD instrument panel and a rotatable central control screen. In the future, it will also be equipped with the DiSus-C body control system by BYD.

In terms of power, according to the previous declaration information, the new car is equipped with a 1497mL engine, with a maximum power of 102kW and a top speed of 180km/h.
According to the previous information revealed at Auto Shanghai, the vehicle will be equipped with a Xiaoyun plug-in hybrid dedicated 1.5L efficient engine and a Xiaoyun plug-in hybrid dedicated turbocharged 1.5T engine, with two sets of powertrains. It will be matched with an EHS hybrid system and a super hybrid-specific power-type blade battery, enabling all-condition driving with the electric drive as the main source, efficient engine charging, and a timely auxiliary drive. In addition, the vehicle has a fuel consumption of 3.9 liters per hundred kilometers when running on electricity and gasoline combined, and it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds.
In terms of endurance, the Seal DM-i offers two types of NEDC pure electric endurance mileage: 121km and 200km. The official claim is that it is the only plug-in hybrid sedan in its class to provide a pure electric endurance mileage of 200km.
