Huawei Releases Pocket S Foldable Smartphone and Other New Products

Chinese tech giant Huawei held a launch event on November 2 during which it released its foldable Pocket S smartphone, equipped with a 40MP main camera and HarmonyOS 3.0, starting from 5,988 yuan ($820). In addition to the new smartphone, the event also saw the unveiling of the Huawei WATCH GT Cyber, a new generation of all-in-one MateStation X, and other products.

At the conference, Richard Yu, Executive Director, CEO of the Consumer BG, CEO of the Intelligent Automotive Solution BU of Huawei, said that as of September this year, Huawei’s foldable smartphone products had occupied first place in Chinese market shipments. According to IDC, in the third quarter of 2022, more than 1 million foldable smartphone products were delivered, an increase of about 246% year-on-year, marking the largest single-quarter shipment in history. Among them, Huawei, Samsung, vivo, Xiaomi and Honor ranked in the top five.

Huawei Pocket S adopts a multi-dimensional linkage lifting water drop hinge. It has passed 400,000 durability certification tests by Swiss certification and testing company SGS. Compared with Huawei Mate X2, its impact proof capability is improved by 33% and its extrusion resistance is improved by 150%.

Huawei Pocket S adopts an ultra-cold flexible graphene heat radiation system, and the graphene heat radiation film can move together with the rotating shaft with the unfolding and folding of the whole phone to improve heat radiation. The phone is equipped with a 4000mAh battery, which supports 40W fast charging. It can complete power replenishment from 1% to 52% in 20 minutes in Turbo charging mode.

Huawei WATCH GT Cyber

The Huawei WATCH GT Cyber features the firm’s first detachable smart movement. That is, the watch can replace the case and deliver different feelings. There are three colors: When the case is changed, the screen of the smartwatch will display a blue aperture and vibrate, which has a strong sense of technology. The name of “Cyber” may be related to this.

Huawei MateStation X 2023

The new Huawei MateStation X 2023 all-in-one computer is equipped with an Intel i9-12900H processor. Equipped with Lightning 4 jacks, it supports up to 1TB solid-state drive and 16GB running memory. The new model has a 28.2-inch 4K screen with a maximum brightness of 500 nits and a 1080p camera on the screen.

The i9 16GB+512GB version costs 11,999 yuan, while the i9 16GB+1TB version costs 12,999 yuan.

Huawei Smart Screen V

The new Huawei Smart Screen V is available in 65-inch and 75-inch sizes, equipped with HarmonyOS 3, bringing intelligent interaction and all-round entertainment experience to users. Based on powerful CPU, GPU and NPU, 720P pictures can be upgraded to 4K. Huawei SOUND smart audio and a 12MP magnetic AI camera not only bring rich somatosensory games and AI fitness experiences to users, but can also provide safer and more reliable privacy protection capabilities.

The Huawei Smart Screen V65 is priced at 7,999 yuan, and V75 is priced at 12,999 yuan, officially launched on November 2, 2022.
